Quilt Pattern Inspiration For The Tamarack Jacket

Quilt Pattern Inspiration for the Tamarack Jacket | Grainline Studio

Back in October we shared a huge compilation of all the gorgeous Tamarack Jackets made by you! We were deeply inspired by those who embraced the "quilt" in quilted jacket and created a pieced quilt top for the outer layer of their jackets.

Today we have a post JAM PACKED with quilt patterns we love that will hopefully get your wheels turning for an extra special Tamarack of your own! We've included a little something for everyone with a wide range of styles and skill levels.

There are many ways to utilize a quilt pattern for your Tamarack, you may only use a single quilt block, you may sew up the entire quilt top and then treat it as yardage to cut your pieces from, or you may want to resize the quilt pattern so it all fits neatly within your tamarack pieces.

However you choose to use it, the first step is finding a quilt pattern that speaks to you! There are so many quilt patterns out there in the world, it was so hard to even narrow down for this post! Take a scroll below to see quilt patterns from traditional to modern, beginner to advanced. Hopefully you'll find something that sparks your imagination!

There's something so warm and comforting about a traditional style quilt! Even a new makes feels like a heirloom with a rich past. These patterns are timeless and can easily be adapted in many ways.

- Square Deal  by She Quilts A Lot - found on a site called Connecting Threads which is a wealth of quilting patterns, supplies, and helpful information.

- Greatest Hits Album  The Fat Quarter Shop has yearly block packs where you can purchase each block separately or the block bundle. It's another great source for patterns, fabric, and supplies.

- Quilt hexagon or honeycomb This isn't a quilt pattern per se, its actually a quilt on display at the Met made by Rebecca Davis in 1846, which amazes me! This is a traditional hexagon/ honeycomb quilt though which you can find many tutorials and patterns anywhere online.
