Off the Clock: Episode 1

Welcome to Off the Clock — a new monthly series where I share what I'm actually making when I'm not in work mode. As a pattern designer who also makes content, I'm always deep in projects I can't show yet, so this is my excuse to talk about everything else. January turned out to be a big month but spoiler, it’s mostly socks.
Here's a quick rundown of everything in the video if you'd rather skim:
Finished this month:
- Blackout curtains repurposed from old studio curtains: ugly grommets are out, back tabs are in
- Neon ankle socks made from Purl Soho Posy and Madelinetosh Twist Light scraps: free yarn = free socks
- Striped scrap socks made from the remains of three other pairs: afterthought heel, not my fave but cozy)
- BFF socks by Cookie A in Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock: my forever favorite pattern, highly recommend the yarn also
- Pressed Flowers Kerchief by Amy Christoffers in Kelbourne Woolens Cozy: my first mosaic knitting project, restarted three times, worth it
- A baby quilt for Lexi in Heather Ross lawn fabric I'd been saving for over a decade
Coming up:
- Socks for Jon in Navia Sock: he did not ask for these but too bad
- Mom's Christmas socks: she requested two pairs this year
- The Inge colorwork sweater with Laura McDougal-Long: finally, FINALLY an Isager sweater
- Quilt mending pile: five quilts, Poppy's teeth, enough said
- Finishing a queen-size quilt top from an estate sale
Also! I have 850 yards of Woolfolk Flette boucle and absolutely no idea what to make with it. If you have thoughts, please share them in the comments. It's haunting me.
Off the Clock posts monthly. Next update in April — I'll have progress on the Inge sweater and probably more socks.
