Introducing the Farrow Dress in Sizes 14 – 30
Today we're so excited to release the Farrow in sizes 14 – 30! We originally released the Farrow back in November 2016 and it's still one of our favorite patterns here in the studio. We couldn't be happier with how the 14 – 30 Farrow turned out, so to celebrate we're offering 20% off the Farrow Dress through Sunday September 5th, no code needed! The Farrow
One of my favorite things about the Farrow is it’s A-line shape. It’s extremely comfortable and easy to wear, two things I always look for in a garment. I love that just by changing the fabrics from one with more body, like the linen on the left, to one with less body and more drape, like the rayon on the right, you can really change the silhouette of the dress. I've personally made Farrows out of linen, wool, cotton, wool/cotton blends, silk charmeuse, 4-ply silk, and silk charmeuse and each one really becomes its own version of the dress.
The 14-30 Farrow was drafted from our custom 14-30 block (see our size chart here), just like the rest of our patterns in that size range. Rather than simply drafting our 0-18 block up to a 30, this pattern fits like it was drafted specifically for you...because it was! We've added bust darts to ensure that the Farrow fits smoothly and neatly across the bust while the lightly fitted sleeves allow for plenty of arm movement.
The Farrow features an elegant A-line shape set off by a jewel neckline. Clever diagonal seaming adds interest and conceals inseam pockets. The option of making the Farrow sleeveless or using the bracelet length sleeves gives it year-round versatility. Techniques involved in sewing the Farrow include sewing a straight seam, sewing darts, setting sleeves, inseam pockets, and applying facings. It's a great project for those of you ready to graduate from basic sewing patterns, but really fun to add your own touches to if you're more advanced.
