Now it's time to get your Felix Dress inspiration flowing with some RTW images! When designing the Felix I wanted an easy dress that I could wear day to day and feel put together but still be comfortable. For me that means loose, floaty, something that doesn't cling to me as I'm going about my day, yet still looks put together. I've worn the Felix teaching twice and that's pretty much the gold standard test for how easy to wear something is! I think the above photos are great inspiration for how classic a dress like this can look when done in a color like white, navy, or black. These images are a bit more punchy - I absolutely love the prints, dots, and stripes happening in all of these images! As you can see from our Felix product images it looks just as great in a print as it does a stripe  and I think there's some great print-spiration here. There's so much amazing printed rayon out there right now, and that was another huge inspiration for me with this dress. Honestly I'm kicking myself for not saving some of my eye print Workroom Social x Whitney Crutchfield fabric for one because that would be the ultimate! Ugh, win some / lose some I guess.

There's also some ability to mix and match fabrics for this dress if you're feeling so inclined. A lot of the rayons out there are part of a line which means there are often two that really compliment each other. If you just look at this Art Gallery rayon page, for example, you can see how many fabrics could easily mix and match - especially with those solid colors! You might try a solid neckband with a printed body, or mixing two different prints or solids for the bodice and skirt. The sky is the limit!

On another note, a few people have asked if there will be a sew-along for the Felix dress, and the answer is yes! I'll be talking about fabric selection on Monday followed by a supplies list before we launch into pattern adjustments, cutting, then get to sewing.

In the meantime if you get started early and have questions you can either email us using our contact form here, or just pop your questions in the comments on any existing Felix post.

We always offer full pattern support for everything we release, and I'm worried I got some of you worried with the bodice construction description in the pattern. Reading through the instructions may seem overwhelming but we've found that people are a-okay once they're actually following them step-by-step while sewing. With that, I'll see you back here Monday with all sorts of tips and recs for your fabric!
