Farrow 14-30 Pattern Tester Roundup

Here at Grainline, we follow a very thorough, multi-step process when we release a pattern. We develop our custom blocks and create, test, and refine our grading for each block before fitting with live fit models in house to ensure that our sizing and grading fits properly across all sizes. Then we use professional tech and copy editors to make sure our patterns and instructions are correct and clear, and we work with members of the community to test each and every size of each pattern we release. Our goal is to create patterns of the highest quality to make sewing easy and fun for you!

Pattern testing with our community team is one of our favorite parts of developing a new pattern. For each pattern, we set up a Slack channel so we can geek out together about construction, fit, other sewing projects we’re working on, etc., and it’s truly a joy to sew together. We love to see the pattern come to life in the hands of our skilled testers, and with that in mind, we’d love to share some of our testers’ finished Farrow Dresses today.

Desiree @sewdontsleep created a stunning and timeless Farrow by using a very versatile Tencel Chambray. A perfect fabric pairing for the Farrow to easily transition from day to night!

Emily @emilyruthdesigns used this fun linen with a great pop of color. Made up in the long sleeve version, it will surely brighten any gloomy fall or winter day!

Lauren @rhapsodyfiber sewed hers up in a yarn dyed brussels washer linen and (though its hard to see in pictures) topstitched with a decorative gold thread! I also love how she styled it with a turtleneck underneath showcasing how the Farrow can be a great layering piece.

Miranda @mirry_maker used this fantastic geometric grid cotton fabric. A sharp print and easy breezy cotton are perfect for the heat of summer.

Claire @belle_citadel created this color blocked cutie with two different weights of brussels washer linen. I always love a color blocked Farrow, and what a beautiful color on Claire!

Brittany @hakelstich also went for a bold color in this sienna crepe. I love printed tights with a solid Farrow, her styling is on point from head to toe!

Thank you again to all our amazing pattern testers! Be sure to check out their linked instagram accounts to see more amazing makes.

Please note that while we do test every size, it's not a requirement of our testers that they share their finished garments publicly. This is why you're only seeing 6 of the 9 testers today. Because we value their feedback and it is integral to our process, all of our pattern testers are compensated for their work.
