Archer Button Up & Popover in Sizes 14-32
Today we're excited to finally be releasing the Archer Button Up and its companion, the Archer Popover Variation Pack, in our 14 – 32 D-Cup size range! The Archer was originally released back in 2013 and has consistently been a best seller due to its thorough instructions and timeless, relaxed fit. We worked incredibly hard on the fit of this pattern and we’re so happy with how it turned out! To celebrate the launch we’re offering 20% all Archer and Archer Popover patterns, now through July 4th, 2022, no code needed.
The Archer Button Up Shirt
The Archer is a truly versatile pattern and I’m not just talking about View A vs. View B and the Popover Variation Pack, though those definitely help the cause. By choosing different fabrics you can completely change the feel of the shirt. Choose a lightweight denim or chambray for a classic denim shirt, plaid flannel for cozy vibes, linen for a breezy summer layer, rayon for a cool, fluid look, or get sophisticated with a silk – or silk chiffon if you’re really feeling fancy. All of these fabrics work beautifully with the Archer pattern.
We designed the Archer as a loosely fitted button up shirt with slightly dropped shoulders and long sleeves. View A has a traditional box pleat at the back yoke and angled cuffs, while View B has a gathered lower back detail and straight cuffs. The techniques involved in sewing the Archer include sewing a straight seam, sewing darts, setting sleeves, creating continuous button plackets, adding a shirt collar, and inserting buttons & buttonholes.
The 14-32 Archer was drafted from our custom 14-32 block (see our size chart here), just like the rest of our patterns in that size range. Rather than simply drafting our 0-18 block up to a 32, this pattern fits like it was drafted specifically for you...because it was! We've added bust darts to ensure that the Archer fits smoothly and neatly across the bust while the lightly fitted sleeves allow for plenty of arm movement.
The Archer Popover Variation Pack
In addition to the Archer release, we’re also releasing our Archer Popover Variation Pack in sizes 14 – 32. This pattern add-on will allow you to easily convert your existing Archer pattern into a popover with a center front placket and matching tower sleeve plackets.
We've included new pattern pieces for the center front and sleeve in addition to the placket pieces so there's no need to make any pattern changes or draft a thing. Our instruction booklet will guide you through which pieces of the original Archer pattern you'll need and which you can discard. It also provides full cutting layouts and directions for both the center and sleeve plackets just like all of our patterns.
