Get Ready for the Field Bag Sew-Along (And Stowe!)
We mentioned in our launch post last week that we'd be doing a sew-along for the Field Bag, so today we're announcing that and revealing the schedule! I've heard from a lot of you that you're coming to this from knitting, so I'm so excited to get you all started on a new hobby ;)
The Field Bag Sew-Along will be starting on Tuesday July 6th. We'll be posting new episodes each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays so make sure you're subscribed to our channel so you get notifications when the new videos are live
Our schedule for the sew-along is:
- Day 1: Introduction, fabric & supplies
- Day 2: Assembling & prepping the pattern
- Day 3: Cutting & marking for both the kit and yardage
- Day 4: Assembling the pocket
- Day 5: Assembling the bag body
- Day 6: Finishing the top, strap, and cords
After we finish up the Field Bag, we're going to sew through the Stowe Bag. If you're unfamiliar with the Stowe, it's the first pattern we did with Fringe Supply Co., and their first project bag design. It's a clever little bag that's perfect for toting your project, lunch, groceries, and more! You'll pick up even more skills to build on what you learned during the Field Bag Sew-Along. The Stowe sew-along will be as follows:
- Day 1: Introduction, fabric & supplies
- Day 2: Assembling & prepping the pattern
- Day 3: Cutting & marking
- Day 4: Making & attaching the pockets
- Day 5: Making & finishing the handles
- Day 6: How to make bias tape
- Day 7: Finishing Your Bag
- Day 8: Optional step 15
