2015 Pattern Recap: Morris Blazer
Up next in our 2015 Pattern Recap is the Morris Blazer. This blazer originally made it's debut as part of my Hound Fall/Winter 2011 collection and I think it still looks just as good as when it was originally designed!
It features a flattering front angled hem, 3/4 length sleeves, and a shawl collar. The Morris can be made up in either a woven with a bit of stretch or a stable knit. Both of these allow for ease of movement and give the drape necessary to retain the relaxed style the Morris was designed with.
This blazer originally appeared back on the blog in this post but it took about 30 months of requests to get it across to me that you guys really wanted this pattern!
We have a full Morris Blazer step-by-step sew along here on the blog which you may find useful. We employ a few production sewing techniques when attaching the facings and having a photo guide can definitely be a help.
We featured Katie and Kelly's Morris Blazers, which you can read more about in their posts. You'll also find links to their blog posts which contain any modifications they made. If you're on social media (specifically Instagram) and search the hashtag #morrisblazer you'll see a TON of amazing blazers. Here are just a few!

I also can't forget to mention the time I taught the Morris Blazer at Fancy Tiger Crafts in Denver and accidentally convinced about half my Instagram followers that Jaime and I were actually twins. I had to add the #justkidding after realizing just how many people I fooled. Sorry guys!!
That's all the Morris info I've got, next up is the Lark!
