Reed Sew-Along: Center Front, Back and Side Seams
In this installment of the Reed Sew-Along we'll be sewing up the center back and side seams of Views A & B and the side and center front seams of Views C & D. Just a quick note before we get started, we'll be pressing each of these seams open, so if you don't feel comfortable finishing your seam allowances after the seam is sewn, finish them now.
Views A & B
To begin, grab the two back pieces of the skirt and lay one on top of the other with right sides together, aligning the center back edge and matching edges and notches. Sew and press the seam allowances open.
Topstitch along each side of the center back seam line, 1/4" out from the seam.
The back half of your skirt is now complete.
Views C & D
Sewing Views C & D is much like A & B, only you're using the center front pieces instead of the center back. Take the two center front panels and align them along the center front seam line, matching edges and the hip notch.
Sew the two fronts together and press the seam allowance open. Here you can see a closeup of how we handled the stripe pattern matching as well.
Topstitch 1/4" from the seam line on both sides of the seam.

With the back right side up, align the side seams of the center fronts, right side down, with the side seam of the back. Sew and press the seam allowances open.
Once again, topstitch 1/4" out from the seam line on both sides of the seam. Repeat for the other side of skirt.
That's it! You're now ready to attach the button band and waistbands! Next up we'll be attaching the button bands of Views A & B. If you've missed any posts in this series you can find them all on our Reed Sew-Along page!
