Lakeside Pajama Picks & Bias Tips
one • two • three • four • five • six
We were finally able to restock the paper version of our Lakeside Pajamas a few weeks ago and we've been completely blown away by how many of you are snapping them up to make your own summer pj sets! It's been a few years since I've made a set for myself so I thought it would be fun to sew one up and share some of my favorite fabrics I found looking for the perfect print for mine. Above are my top 6 picks for my personal Lakeside Pajamas. Can you guess which one I went with?
While we're on the topic of the Lakesides let's talk about these bias tips! A lot of people have been asking about the bias binding. You need a lot of it (approximately 7 yds) and at 1/4" it's quite thin. You can find the pre-packaged bias tape in 1/4" width but if you use a fabric like lawn or voile for the pajamas, the poly blend and tight weave of the pre-packaged binding is going to leave a lot to be desired.
Because of that I wanted to share an Instagram discovery I made this week, a shop called SoBiased. The owner of the shop, Liv, makes handmade bias and quilt binding out of super cute fabrics that are readily available in the market now, so they're super cute and up to date style wise. She typically only carries 1/2" binding ready to ship, but I found her in a post she made about the Lakeside saying she does do custom orders for 1/4" binding! So if the idea of making 7 yds of 1/4" binding doesn't sound like a good time to you, check out her Etsy shop to place a custom order.
And just so you know, this isn't a sponsored post. I just saw her Instagram post and thought "that's genius" and had to share with you guys. As much as I love making bias tape I don't always have time for that, and I actually don't love it either, but I do love a good time saving idea, especially when its so cute!
