Hadley Sew-Along: View B Neckline
Now lets finish up the neckline of view B! With right sides together, align the shoulder edges of the front and back facing. Stitch along the seam line.
Press the seam allowances open.
If you're finishing the edge of your facing as we did above, you'll find it easiest to start on one side of the V point and work your way around to the other.
To finish off the stitching, thread your serger tail into a needle with a large eye. Feed the tail through the stitching to anchor your stitching and prevent any unraveling.
Align the facing and bodice with right sides together matching center front, center back, and shoulder seams.
Grade the seam allowance of the facing and clip around the neckline. Make sure you also clip into the center front V to, but not through, the stitching line.
Press the facing and seam allowance up away from the neckline. Understitch through both the facing and seam allowances to help the stitching line turn to the inside of the garment.
Press the facing to the inside of the garment and tack the facing down at both shoulder seams, center front, and center back. This will prevent the facing from flipping out with wear. Next up, hems!
