Fall Style Inspiration | Lexi
My favorite season of the year is here! With the cooler temps, I can snuggle in layers and pull on tights, socks, and boots. I have amassed an intense collection of tights that touches every color of the rainbow, which I wear to add interest to any outfit. This fall I’m drawn towards musty dusty 70’s colors like golds, browns, and maroons, mixed with lighter feminine colors like pinks and lilacs.
These colors will serve as inspiration as I source for fabrics to use for my handmade fall wardrobe. Like my compadres have previously expressed, I would like to bulk up my repertoire with some fun Grainline staples. I'm thinking a cozy Linden Sweatshirt made out of this amazing furry knit I acquired from a fabric swap. Jen and I are imagining lengthening the Scout Tee or Lark Tee to make a dreamy velvety shirt dress.
Dresses are my favorite garment for fall and I would love to make a view B Alder Shirtdress in a cute print to pair with tights and boots. My favorite boots to wear in the fall are Frye harness boots. I have them in black and brown and wear them almost every day.
Sweater weather is the best weather, therefore I am making the Driftless Cardigan for an A+ layering piece. Fall is a great time to be playful with color. I thought it would be interesting to color block my Driftless Cardigan. I don’t wear jewelry very often. I tie my outfits together by accessorizing with scarves and belts. My all time favorite is this lion belt that I stole from my mom's costume bin.
The end for now. Stay tuned for my wardrobe updates throughout the fall!!!
