Fall '18 Sewing Inspiration and Plans
I've been thinking a lot about how I wanted to organize my fall wardrobe plans in a way that wasn't overwhelming and didn't set me up for guaranteed failure and I think I've got a solution and a plan. Instead of coming up with x number of garments I want to make, I'm starting with my fabric stash and a few fabric cuties I've collected over this past year and going from there. I've been pulling silhouettes I like and popping them into my Fall '18 Wardrobe Inspiration board on Pinterest as a starting point, some of my favorites are above.
These are the fabrics I pulled from my stash to start out - I have a few with plans and a few without. From top to bottom we have a black denim which I hope will become a pair of jeans and a black and white woven that's earmarked for a Wiksten Haori.
The rust colored linen could possibly become a Hadley - I think it would look great with a few cardigans I've finished lately. Below that is a micro-check rayon that I'd love to do something simple with, though I'm not sure what that is yet, and finally a cotton/linen blend that would be perfect for another Alder / Archer mashup.
I'm going to try to keep it simple and go with the flow. I haven't had time to sew much for myself over the last few years and we're working on a big project behind the scenes this fall / winter so I'm not sure how much personal sewing time I'll have. But these fabrics are all pre-washed and ready for inspiration to strike! How are you handling your fall planning?
