Cortland Trench Inspiration
Today we're talking inspiration for the Cortland Trench! When you say trench coat, most people envision a classic long, tan, Burberry-style garment. You can see in these images that I’ve pulled that tan is definitely the standard, but that doesn’t have to be the case!
The shape and length of the Cortland are a perfect palette for a great pop of color, or even a print. Though, of course I couldn’t find any inspiration images of prints. But that’s the beauty of creating our own garments! The blues and greens shown in these images are perfect for spring – there’s no reason why a trench has to be tan!
I also noticed a lot of really interesting color blocked trenches while pursuing the internet to gather these images. The way the neons pair with the traditional tan is unexpected and really modern. I think I’d love to try one of these pairings personally!
I’ve already got 2 of my own Cortlands so obviously I’ll need a third right? I’ll be showing off my favorite Cortland in our next post, followed by our pattern tester’s projects. After that I’ll be walking you through fabric selection so stay tuned!
