Autumn Wardrobe | Red Wool Moss Skirt
The first Autumn Wardrobe garment is complete! This is the Moss Mini Skirt with the hem band attached in self fabric (View B). Unfortunately I didn't realize that I had creased the skirt so badly by working in it all afternoon before I took the photos, so just ignore that part. I'm pretty into this skirt, it feels a little more formal than my regular wardrobe, something about the wool and longer length. I was recently locked out of my apartment in leggings with holes, a ratty cardigan and a slightly oversized Obama shirt so perhaps this is a good thing.
Luke is out of town again, Europe this time, so I was forced to do the tripod self timer photos which do not look so great, but oh well. I've gotten addicted to photo quality of the 5D with expensive lenses and then find myself disappointed that my point and shoot can't handle my low light indoor situation as well. I had to take a million photos because I was having pets jumping in and out of the photos left and right. These girls are cray.

I think this is going to be a pretty versatile piece for fall to winter and I can see it pairing well with a lot of my wardrobe. I love love love the pocket fabric, I bought it as lining for my cape and stole a little bit for this project. I just cut out the grey version with liberty scrap pockets from my wardrobe plan today and can't wait to sew that up. Personally I think this looks good with my favorite moccasins as well, but I thought I would fancy it up a bit for the blog. Plus after months of it being WAY too warm to wear these shoes I could not resist popping them on for the shoot.
I also used this skirt to photograph the Moss sewing tutorial and after I had finished and uploaded the photos I found that the instructions for the waistband and hem band were corrupted. The skirt is done now so I'm not sure when I'll get to re-photograph them but I'll be posting the photos I do have soon, sorry about that!
