Grainline Studio | Sew & Tell | Andrea of Four Square Walls

I'm sure you guys have seen this, Andrea's blog is a pretty awesome read, but I just had to feature this. How often do you get two Grainline Studio patterns in one outfit?! Well, I do it all the time, but besides me. I seriously want to steal both of these garments, so if they go missing, I do not know who took them. That check is soooo good...it's really hard to find a good large gingham check! Anyway, read on for more info and click over to Andrea's blog to see what else she's up to. A lot, I'll tell you!

Name  Andrea

Pattern  Archer Shirt and Moss Skirt

Andrea’s Blog  Four Square Walls

Her Project Post  Ging'um Up

What type of fabric / materials did you use? “For the shirt, I used a homespun cotton (not spun in MY home, however) in black and white gingham. The skirt is red stretch twill from fabric.com.”

Tell us more about your project! “Ah, this is my fourth Archer shirt and my third Moss mini. What I love about Jen's patterns is that they are foundation pieces you can make multiple times without feeling self-conscious about it -- or bored! And they obviously work well together to create whole outfits.

I've been wanting a large-scale gingham button-up for quite some time, so when I finally ran across the perfect lightweight fabric for it, I had it washed, cut and sewn up in a beautiful new Archer in a hot minute. I did slim down the fit on this one. I wear it all the time!

I love mixing black, white and red, so I thought it perfect timing to make a little red Moss number. For this version I lengthened the hem of view A by four inches and omitted the pockets (I know, I'm crazy to ever omit pockets). I would recommend making this pattern with woven fabric that has an eensy bit of stretch because of its fitted style.”
