A bit back the kind folks over at Laurence King Publishing sent me a few books to check out, one of which was Drape Drape 3. I've been intrigued by these books for a while but previously being on a student's budget meant not being able to splurge.

I chose to make no. 13, the one piece boat neck tunic in some aqua lace I had laying around to use as a cover up at my friend's house on Lake Michigan. You may remember this from my tutorial on patching lace.

All the patterns in the book come in 4 sizes, though no. 13 was grouped into XS/S and M/L, and all of the pattern pieces are printed out on one sheet included in the back of the book. I think this method is pretty standard for pattern magazines though I've never personally encountered it before. I was surprised that it was really easy to pick out the pattern pieces to trace off...looking at that page was giving me the heebie-jeebies.

This tunic made a really great beach cover up and I'm so glad I finally figured out what to do with that lace. My friend Michelle took the beach photos and we had such a fun time traipsing around the waterfront snapping photos and running up and down dunes. If you ever want a really good leg workout, run up and down a sand dune repeatedly. I think it hurt to walk for at least 3 days after that.

I have a few more books from Laurence King I'd like to try out so hopefully I get a bit of time in the next few months. Always so much to do.
