I'm really into Susan's Scout Woven tee for many reasons. First of all, you guys know that I'm a sucker for a fun print and she nailed that, but also Susan really took the time to make the Scout her own. Not only did she do some pretty nuanced adjustments to get exactly the fit she wanted but she also added some mad style points with that contrast piping! Such an awesome and well executed top!

Name  Susan

Pattern  Scout Woven Tee

What type of fabric / materials did you use?  "I used a lightweight cotton lawn with contrasting cotton bias strips for the piping, which worked great. For the first Scout I made, I used rayon challis, and I loved the result of this drapey fabric with this pattern. I have another version planned in double gauze, which I think will work well also because it's so soft -- not at all stiff. Since it's not fitted below the bust, I think this pattern works best with fabrics that have some drape."

Tell us more about your project!  "This top was my second Scout, but it won't be my last! I was highly skeptical that anything woven would work for me without a dart, but I attempted it anyway. I'm SO glad I did! I adore this pattern as it is, but I also have a ton of ideas for tricking it out -- it's a great canvas for crazy prints (which I love), but also for a variety of techniques like piping, or pintucks, or shirring, or trim, or.... Anyway, it was an instant TNT for me and it's been inspiring to see all the other versions floating around!"
