a little new fabric

I’ve sort of psyched my self out of posting on here, it’s been so long that I wasn’t sure what on earth to post about. I was on such a roll and then things got in the way. I really don’t want to stress out about this blog, I want it to be fun! I kept thinking, I don’t have any new tutorials to post or garments I’ve made so I can’t post at all. I used to post about other things, what happened to me? I have become a blog nut job. With that in mind I am going to try to relax and post about sewing but occasionally other things too, like I used to, because I do a lot more things than just sew all day every day. Well no, that’s actually what I do, but I like to do other things too! For example, I went to a fat quarter sale with my mom last weekend and we each picked up some things for a few mini-projects we need to make. I couldn’t resist the cat fabric in the middle! Though it was purchased with no plan at all in mind I’m now thinking of making a little flat bed for Roamy to lay on. That girl does love a flat bed for an afternoon nap. Okay, first post-break post done…PHEW!!! Now onto the next one…

I agree. No blog stressin’! :)

Kittens and birdies (owls?). And yeah, don’t over think blog content. It’s no fun if you’re feeling pressure.

I love all the fabric, the colours and the prints! Looking forward to see what you’re going to do with them. I have some pretty fabric that are not suitable for clothing but I have no idea what to do with them.
I also have a similar mental block after a blog break. Not quite sure what to write about without sounding abrupt etc etc. But I’ve got to say that this post was a great way to get right back into blogging.I’m really captivated by the loveliness of the fabric.

  4. It gets way out of control hey?! When you leave it a week, then two and suddenly you’re feeling like a naughty blogger. But I have to say I’m glad to see you back in this space posting about whatever. Although I love all posts sewing related, it’s generally interesting to get little snippets of daily life, whatever they be.

I agree with Cirque du Bebe, those little snippets are interesting ans usually inspiring. It’s nice to see you here again…

  6. Love the Hoot dots! I understand your blog plight after taking a break. I think it’s because you get used to life without your blog “audience,” and it’s not so bad, so even after you’ve been blogging for yourself and not them, you feel like going back to blogging is for their sake and not yours…at least, that’s how I feel.

I’d say, think of yourself, rather than us. We’ll enjoy reading :)

It’s your blog. Post about whatever you want. I enjoy the little insights in to everyday life anyway. I’m all for no pressure blogging. And if you need someone to take that cat fabric off your hands, just let me know ;)

I just love quilting cottons sometimes – so bright and fun and whats with those crazy prints?!?! Whose job is it to make those… I want that job…

I totally get the blog pressure feeling – you start out posting about whatever, and then its like the blog takes on a life of its own and I’m just not sure if I can live up to that sometimes!! For the record – I also like to do other things besides sew, and I like to read about other things besides sewing!! I’m excited to hear what else you might have in store for us :)

I agree with Liza Jane. It’s your blog – write about whatever you want! We’ll find it fascinating. Promise.

WAY cute kitty fabric! Ugh. I want it! I’m actually rummaging around in my quilting cotton stash today to find a cute fabric for a make-up brush holder. I like the occasional easy, crafty project.

I can’t wait to see your Hound spring collection. The fabrics you’re using are beautiful.

Thanks! I am excited to get back here in ernest and make it though the over 500 blog updates in my reader…I am so behind on everything!!!

Love the cat print! It reminds me of a mid century scarf. And all the summery colors are pretty. Can’t wait for it to be nice and warm! What kinds of projects are you and your mom working on?

I am the same with my blog. Its been forever and then I don’t know what to post and I freak out about it. But Its just nice to see a new post! (I will have to keep that in mind myself!)

Totally agree with you on the cats reminding you of a scarf! I have quite a few pregnant friends so I have to make things for them which I can’t mention here in case they are reading. I’m glad I’m not the only one, it’s so hard to make that first post back, and the second… haha!

  13. Ginger says:

These are so cute! Love the zany prints!

I’m sorry you’re feeling overwhelmed with the blog. I don’t think any of us have expectations of what/how often you’re posting– I know I love getting updates about what you’re up to, regardless of the content!

So much colour! Love the stripes and one with big pink semi circles in particular. Now you just have to work out what to make with them!
Ps. Blogging lulls are totally allowed :) Perhaps you have been procrastinating in blogging but I have been procrastinating in starting a blog for well over 6 months now.
