Yikes, I seem to have disappeared for a solid week! Last week was the sort of crazy usually reserved for the week before Christmas but I guess that’s what happens when you have to mail holiday packages to Canada, your crazy comes early. I spent the first half of the week getting my presents ready for my sister and bro-in-law. I also photographed what I thought was going to be an awesome tutorial on bagging a jacket (photo above) but I’m worried that it was sort of a poor example since the jacket has no collar and I was using a camera lens that was arguably too narrow. The jury is still out on this tutorial so I’m going to go through the photos again and see if I can make it happen.

I also cut out and started sewing up 3 of the 4 the muslins for the new patterns. SO pumped up. I ordered half the fabrics for the samples and omgomg I can’t wait to be wearing these suckers. This week is going to be half devoted to these patterns half devoted to finishing up holiday garments for my friends to gift to their friends.

The second half of last week I was crazed getting ready for the hound holiday sale I had with a few of my friends. I was pretty much out of fabric so in addition to sample selling I made up some gift pouches and clutches. I am paying the price now though after making so many zippers. Pulling out zipper teeth is one of the worst things you can do to your hands. I am still paying for that…ouch!!

Man I love metallic linen. How are your holiday preparations going? Are you making many gifts or buying? I am having a bit of a hard time getting into the holiday spirit this year since it’s been so unseasonably warm in Chicago, I mean seriously, where is the snow!?!?!?!?!?! Boo hoo hoo…..

whew!! that’s a lot of cutting and prep work!! that jacket looks incredible.
So excited to see your new stuff! I send people to your shop all the time
I’ve mentioned it before , but I would love to have a pattern for your lovely Fayne tunic from Hound lines past. Just wanted to throw my vote in. Thanks, Jen!

P.S. Recently read your post about Wild Flag. They are in Chicago on April 5! Hopefully they’ll play Portland again after that for the hometown crowd.
I totally saw about Wild Flag but haven’t been able to convince anyone to go with me…what?!?! Also, I think you’re going to be happy with the upcoming patterns, not so subtle hint hint..
Goodygoodygoodygoody!
If I lived in Chicago, I would totally go with you

The pouches are absolutely adorable! I love the metallic and the contrast of the floral lining. I can’t wait to see your new patterns! I’m thinking of working on the tiny pocket tank this week. Hope you find a way to relax before Christmas!
Meghan
that pouch is seriously cute.
