I did it, I made yogurt myself…so pumped up. After Iceland I was having a hard time looking at the yogurt available to me in the same light as before my trip. Even in Iceland I spend our first semi-sleepless night after tasting the national skyr that day researching on my ipod how I could possibly re-create this delicious bacteria party. Anyway, I got a yogurt maker on ebay [this model] and last night my dad and I stayed up way too late and made the first yogurt. It’s pretty delish, I mean really delish. I used the recipe from 101 Cookbooks [here] with Fage 0%, I think next time I will let the yogurt hang out in the Salton a bit longer to get a slightly thicker consistancy. I will definitely be making yogurt cheese in the near future, if the description ‘yogurt cheese’ is making you a little sick click here for the lowdown. Here we have the yogurt all fixed up with honey and my homemade gluten-free granola, a delicious morning snack. Anybody else making their own ‘gurt around here?

my mom used to make yogurt all the time…and it was ssssoooo good!
I've been making yogurt the last year or so. I find that the more fat in the milk, the thicker the consistency plus straining the final product (I use a coffee filter) yields super thick Greek yogurt consistency. Mmmmm! I look forward to seeing your yogurt cheese!
wow! A youghurt maker!??! that sounds fab!! xxxxxxx
