more about bread

I finally got to photograph the bread bag I made for our homemade bread. It’s been hard because the bread usually gets carved up immediately upon it’s removal from the oven and never finds it’s way into the bag, even for a staged shot. The bag is based on a pattern in a Moda booklet I saw at the quilt store with my mom, I didn’t buy the book so I recreated it how I remembered it. The bottom is filled with flax seed to keep the bread warm and it looks a bit classier than the paper bag I usually cram the bread into.

This photo was made possible by the fact that Luke is passed out on the daybed with Sister (the pug) and our houseguests left for their road trip back to California this morning around 6 a.m. Now I am taking this bread to work, since Luke slept through the baking, he doesn’t know it exists…shhhh!

Ooh, I love it. Flax seeds! That's so clever, I never would've thought of that. Man, I need to get my hands on the bread book! I ordered it at the library but then forgot to pick it up :(

I just started baking bread, too, and I'm addicted! Love the bread bag. Might have to make one of my own.
