I finally got a chance to watch Coco Before Chanel last night, and I have to say, I loved it. I generally enjoy Audrey Tautou and it was nice to watch a movie about Chanel sans Karl and his collections of rings, ipods and the like. Some people have complained that it sort of skipped her building up to her line and whatnot, but I thought the rapid progression towards the end of the movie was wonderful plus it’s nice to see a movie made about a designers early life. Oh, and the final scene of Coco sitting on the stairs stoicly watching her collection walk then finally, in the last moments of applause, smiling…love. I may or may not have shed a tear with that smile.
