One thing I love about reading is the amassing of books. I love to read, I love to collect and I love to organize, so this being the case, I love bookplates. Sadly I’ve been having a hard time finding many great bookplates, and when I mention them I have found that a majority of people don’t actually know what bookplates are. I’ve bought all 3 sets of bookplates from the black apple, but I like variety and so I’ve been trying to design some of my own. The set I’m working on right now is scanned book linen (sort of like my blog design I know, I got the idea for it working on these plates) with some of my favorite literary quotes on them, I’m 4 in right now with 8 being the goal, and am currently taking suggestions for more quotations. I am also taking recommendations for a seller of wonderful bookplates.
*note : it really is awkward to use the word ‘bookplates’ this many times in one small paragraph
Sadly, for being a library student I own very little books. I just borrow from libraries! Lately, I've been purchasing a few of my own. I love these bookplates. My favorite quote comes from Le Petit Prince :Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux. I love saying it in French, but it also means: Here is my secret. It is very simple: one only see well with the heart, the essential is invisible to the eyes.

Both of those quotes are so great! I never write down my favorite quotes from books, but I should as I'm reading them. I think I'm going to try to pop these two quotes on a bookplate!
